Get To Know The Area

AGIA PELAGIA
Home of our Safari and the place where our Quad Adventure begins

Agia Pelagia is a small town about a 30 minutes drive away from Heraklion on the North West coast of Crete. It is known for its quiet and family friendly surrounding and its breathtaking views. The three neighbour bays Mononaftis, Psaramoura and the beach of Agia Pelagia offer many possibilities for those who love the beach and the sea on their holidays.

Agia Pelagia has a small touristic town just by the beach, where one can find everything from souvenirs to small tavernas and cosy bars.

The Hotel Peninsula is based on a mountain surrounded by the sea. Along the Cliffside of Mononaftis we start our Quad Safari. From the height of the cliffs you will be able to see the natural beauty of this place.

ACHLADA
The Ghost Village in the mountains with an unbeatable view

Achlada is a small village that has been mostly untouched by tourism. It is high in the mountains and offers a breathtaking view all over Agia Pelagia and the surrounding areas. Unlike other small towns in the region there are no souvenir shops or fish taverns in this village. Achlada offers an impressive Orthodox Church right at the entry.

The people of Achlada still work in traditional Cretan businesses. So it’s not a surprise that there is an olive oil refinery just at the exit. The real highlight though is the ghost town, which can be found at the lower part of Achlada. Long left houses in narrow roads give this place an adventurous touch.

FODELE
The Birthplace of El Greco and a typical Cretan Village

Fodele is most well known for being the birthplace of the famous Greek painter El Greco. For all the art and history lovers, the village offers a museum with El Greco’s paintings and information about the artist. In addition to that, Fodele is one of the favourite places for the local people on a weekend.

It is known as the typical Cretan village and famous for its handicrafts. Walking along the small roads you can find lots of little shops in which there are handmade goods and locally produced and typical Cretan products.

For those of you who are looking for an authentic village Fodele is the right choice
